Review:
Freddy Vs Jason was amazing! It had great special effects, great actors, and great music. When I went to see F V J, it reminded me of the Superbowl. People on the right were the Freddy fans and the people on the left were the Jason fans. My friend (sadly) was a Jason, so we fought a lot about the movie. I never saw anything like that at a movie. When Freddy or Jason did something cool, they would cheer, it was really hard to hear what they were saying (great Freddy lines like: "Welcome to my nightmare." "He may get the blood, but I'll get the glory."!) *One great scene was in the dream of Jason. Freddy was throwing Jason all around like a pinball machine (You could here the "boing" noise.), and Freddy dropped him in mid-air and said Tilt! The only problem with this movie is the way it flows. The beginning was kind of bad, because first you're here, and the next you're there. But make sure you see it. Jason (my God!) killed 18 people! Freddy (sadly) only killed 2. Freddy Vs. Jason is like a roller coaster: it's full of thrills and chills and you cant get enough of it!

Quotes and Cool Information

Freddy Krueger: [To Kia] How sweet, dark meat!

Freddy Krueger: [To Lori] I've always had a thing for the whores that lived in this house.

[After seeing Jason go on a rampage at a rave]
Kia: [To
Lori] Was that him? The guy you were talking about? Freddy Krueger?
Lori: That wasn't the guy from my dream. That was someone else...
Linderman: Who the fuck cares about some dream guy? That psycho in the hockey mask was REAL!
Freeburg: Dude, that goalie was pissed about something.

Freddy Krueger: What's the matter, Lori? Miss your wake-up call?

Freddy Krueger: He may get the blood, but I'll get the glory!

[Blake has just survived a Freddy nightmare]
Freddy Krueger: [To himself] Not strong enough, yet. But I will be soon enough. Until then... I'll let Jason have some fun.

Lori: Gibb, what are you doing? I thought you quit.
Gibb: I did! I only smoke when I drink now.
Lori: You drink all the time.
Gibb: Yeah, well I'll work on that next.

[In Gibb's dream]
Freddy Krueger: [To Gibb] Don't worry about my little errand boy... the only thing to fear... is fear... HIMSELF!

Freddy Krueger: Being dead... that wasn't a problem. But being forgotten? Now that's a BITCH!

[In Jason's dream]
Mrs. Pamela Voorhees: [To Jason] Jason... my special, special boy. Do you know what your gift is? No matter what they do to you, you cannot die. You can never die. You've just been sleeping, honey. But now, the time has come to wake up. Mommy has something she wants you to do! I need you to go to Elm Street... the children have been very bad on Elm Street! Rise up, Jason! Your work isn't finished yet! Hear my voice and live again! Make them remember me Jason... make them remember what fear tastes like!
[After Jason leaves, Mrs. Voorhees turns into Freddy Krueger]
Freddy Krueger: I've been away from my children for far too long.

Freddy Krueger: [to Lori after invading her dream] Welcome to my world, bitch. I should warn you, princess. The first time tends to get a little... messy.

Will Rolins: Come on Freeburg, we gotta go!
[Possessed By Freddy Krueger]
Freeburg: Let me handle this, bitch.

Freddy Krueger: And now, it's time to put this bad dog to sleep... FOR GOOD!

Freddy Krueger: Man the torpedoes!

Kia: Two killers! We're not safe awake or asleep!

Freddy Krueger: [To Jason] Why won't you DIE?

[A contorted Trey emerges from the cornstalks]
Trey: I'm dead one day and you're all ready out gettin' shitfaced? Same ol' Gibb!
Gibb: [Stammering] Trey, I, I couldn't believe...
Trey: Come on! Lets go.
[Waits]
Trey: Babe don't make me ask you twice, okay?

Freddy Krueger: [To Lori] Your eyes say "no, no." But my mouth says "yes, yes."

Kia: [To Freddy] : So you're the one everyone's afraid of, huh? Tell me this. What kind of faggot runs around in a Christmas sweater? I mean, get real. You're not even scary. And what's with the butter-knives? You trying to compensate for something? Maybe coming up a little short between the legs, Mr. Krueger? I mean, you've got these teensy-weensy little things, and Jason's got this big ol'...
[Freddy points behind her, she turns, and there is Jason standing right in front of her with his machete.]

Freddy Krueger: [Narrating] When I was alive, I may have been a little naughty, but after they killed me, I became something much, much worse. The stuff nightmares are made of.

[tormenting young Jason in his dream]
Freddy Krueger: Awww, how sweet!
[ripping the hockey mask off]
Freddy Krueger: You ugly little shit. Now there's a face...
[Holds up the severed head of Pamela Voorhees on a pole]
Freddy Krueger: only a mother could love!

Freddy Krueger: [To Jason] Ahh, so you're afraid of something after all...

Freddy Krueger: [To Jason] I'm dying to see what skeletons are hiding in your closet.

[Jason approaches two ravers]
Teammate: Check out this fuckin' guy.
Shack: Hey, Jethro! This is a rave, not a Halloween party! Why don't you go find a pig to fuck?
Teammate: Invite only, cornpoke.
[Poking Jason's chest on each word]
Teammate: And you... weren't invi...
[Jason grabs Teammate's head and twists it around. Jason then pokes him in his chest... and he falls over, dead.]
Shack: Son of a bitch.

[After escaping from Jason]
Deputy Stubbs: Do you kids need some assistance?
Gibb: [screams, holding up her bloody hands] What the fuck do you think?

Freeburg: Screw that clown with the Christmas sweater! What kinda pussy goes after you in your dreams anyway? Now that dude in the mask? Evil fuckin' force of nature, man. Let me tell you.

Kia: We should offer Freddy a sacrifice.
Lori: Sacrifice? What do you-
Freeburg: A virgin.
Mark: Someone pure, yeah.
[Everyone looks at Linderman]
Linderman: Well, don't look at me. Even if you pay for it, it still counts.

Deputy Stubbs: I think we're dealing with an impostor.
Linderman: No, I've seen what he can do. He's the real Jason.
Deputy Stubbs: Linderman, that's impossible. Jason's dead.
Freeburg: Well, you better start thinking outside your little box dude, cause this guy was definitely breaking the reality rules.

[Freddy is playing pinball with Jason, suddenly Jason hits the ceiling and falls straight down.]
Freddy Krueger: Uh oh, tilt...

Little Girl: His name is Freddy Krueger, and he loves children, especially little girls. Freddy's coming back. Soon he'll be strong enough. It's okay to be afraid. We were all afraid. Warn your friends. Warn everyone.

[torturing Jason in the dream world]
Freddy Krueger: Penny for your thoughts, chief?
[Jason grabs him and pushes his throat to the machete]
Freddy Krueger: Ooh, scary!

Cool Information
Veteran Friday the 13th actor Kane Hodder wanted to reprise his role as Jason Voorhees in this film, but was denied the role because the filmmakers wanted Jason to have "sympathic eyes" and wanted him to be a closer physical match to Freddy. Ken Kirzinger, who won the role of Jason Voorhees, played a New York cook and was also the stunt coordinator in Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (1989).

Katharine Isabelle was originally cast as a no longer existing character named Jenny, while Lauren Lee Smith was cast as Gibb. But when the Character of Jenny was erased from further re-writes, Katharine Isabelle took over the part of Gibb, and Lauren Lee Smith was no longer in the film.

Jason Bateman was originally cast as Will, but was replaced by Jason Ritter.

Brad Renfro was originally cast as Will, but dropped out.

  • Several endings were considered for the film. Originally shot was a scene in which Lori and Will begin to have sex for the first time. However, Will starts acting like a maniac and eventually sprouts a Freddy claw, then proceeds to slash at his girlfriend. This was cut due to miserable test scores, in which the audience thought the acting was terrible and asked, "Where's Jason?" Another ending features Jason and Freddy battling into Crystal Lake. Eventually, though, the lake begins to drain, and the two titans are taken back to Hell. However, in one of the final shots, Lori's father appears, and Freddy's claw springs out of the ground and kills him. Finally, a theoretical ending which was an extension of the "sucked to Hell" concept was considered. This ending featured Freddy and Jason fighting in Hell. However, chains rip out of the darkness and catch both of them. Then Pinhead, from "Hellraiser," appears, and asks, 'Now, gentlemen, what seems to be the problem?' This wasn't used due to New Line not wanting to purchase the rights to the Pinhead character.
  • During test and advance screenings, the ending was not added to the film. Instead, the following text appeared: "On August 15th, 2003 see the final sixty seconds and see who has survived...and what is left of them."

  • The call letters of the news station shown on the TV in the hospital are KRGR, obviously a reference to Freddy Krueger. It is also the name of the radio station that Glenn (Johnny Depp) is listening to right before he dies in Nightmare On Elm Street, A (1984)

  • Freddy's "how sweet, dark meat" line is a variation on the line "how sweet, fresh meat" in Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master, A (1988)

  • In the beginning of the movie, as Freddy Krueger gives his monologue there are clips of _Nightmare on Elm Street, A (1984)_ , _Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge, A (1985)_ , _Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, A (1987)_ Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master, A (1988)_ Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child, A (1989)Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare (1991) shown as he gives his monologue.

  • Westin Hills is Freddy's birthplace and was featured in Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, A (1987)

  • The goat seen in Blake's early nightmare sequence is a reference to Tina's nightmare involving a goat in the original Nightmare On Elm Street, A (1984)

  • Ronny Yu originally turned down the directing job because the script didn't indicate who won. He agreed to take the job when Robert Shaye told him he could make that decision himself.

  • Cameo: [Robert Shaye] the producer of all the "Nightmare" movies (including this one) appears as "Principal Shaye" (credited as L.E. Moko)

  • New Line first attempted to make this film in 1987, when they tried to team up with Paramount Pictures to make it as Friday the 13th VII, but there was never an agreement made.

  • Cameo: [Oscar Guitterez] as person who jumps.

  • The bag placed over Jason's head in the Crystal Lake nightmare is a reference to the bag Jason wears in Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981) before he started wearing his trademark hockey mask.

  • Gibb ('Katherine Isabelle' ) is always shown wearing a red baseball hat. This is an reference from Carrie (1976), where P.J. Soles' character would always wear a red baseball cap. Isabelle co-starred in the TV remake of Carrie (2002) (TV).

  • During the final fight at Crystal Lake, Freddy says, "Hey Asshole!" to Jason. That line is usually said by the "hero" of the other Friday the 13th movies.

  • One early version of the script called for the beginning of the film to take place in medieval times, while another called for the beginning to start out at camp crystal lake, with Jason getting arrested. Another script was to have the beginning of the film take place at the eve of the millennium.

  • Goofs and Alternate Versions

    Goofs:
In the beginning, it seems Freddy has only one fingerknife on his glove when he is about to kill the little girl. But in the next scene, there is 4. (Maybe I'm wrong)

When Jason is on fire in the cornfield and the fire in the cabins at the end you can see the actor's safety goggles behind the Hockey mask

In this movie, Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees bleed red in both the real world and Freddy's bleeds red in the dream world. In all previous Nightmare and Friday movies, Freddy's blood was green in the dream world and Jason's was black in the real world.

Before Freddy drops the canister on Jason, he starts to get up. But when it falls, he's flat on his back.
